Do you prefer to travel alone or in a group?

I like to travel alone, mainly because I have had several bad experiences traveling with others. I hardly ever travel with family, because they don't have a whole lot of money to travel. When I get the chance to travel I usually go with friends. Which usually means, I want to go on a trip, and they want to go along.
But, when I go with friends, we never end up doing any of the things that I want to do. Well, it starts out as what I want to do, and then I get the. "I'm bored." Lets do something else speech. Then we end up doing all of the stuff that they want to do, and more time doing that, than the stuff I wanted to do. So, I finally told all my friends. "IF you want to go on this trip..You can follow me in your own car." Which lead to them never going on another trip with me again. They were basically mooching rides, and, never offered to take me anywhere. It was always my car, and my time.
So, now that I go by myself, I am free to do whatever I want, and stay out as long as I want. I would like to have someone go with me, but, I know better not to. The only travel companion I had who never asked for anything was my brother. He loved going on my trips, and never asked for anything.
